My Story

My husband and I have 5 kids. Yes, on purpose. I like kids, okay? But I don’t like to raise them without a TON of support. So I spearheaded a playgroup, a babysitting swap, a co-op preschool, and more! I built an AMAZING village, in which we all raised our kids together. We did carpools, playdates, and outings. We watched each other’s kids for appointments and trips and migraines. Our kids all had plenty of social time, and so did we. Now that my youngest is in school, I want to help other moms find villages like that!
I have been a big fan of thought work for over 8 years. I learned how to change my thoughts by listening to podcasts, reading books, and watching YouTube videos by therapists and life coaches. It’s so fascinating and fun for me, and I am really good at it.
On February 22, 2022 my 7-year-old son was hit by a pick-up truck. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. I assumed that anyone in my shoes would need therapy, so I called to set up an appointment. When I told the therapist about my son’s accident, she assumed that I would have PTSD, so she took me on. When she evaluated me, however, she was surprised to find that somehow I didn’t have PTSD. Obviously, I had plenty of grieving and adapting to do, but because I was in the habit of choosing my thoughts intentionally, I was already handling all of that amazingly well. To this day, my son still can’t talk or even hold his head up, but that doesn’t stop him or me from choosing to be happy people.
That’s why I became a master certified life coach. I have loved and believed in these tools and concepts for years. Now I am blown away by their power–by the huge extent to which they hold up. I don’t want to keep a gift of that magnitude to myself.
